why water drum is so necessary in water tube boiler? what are it's main function?what happens if we do not use water drum and operate boiler only on steam drum???

the difference in water drum and steam drum usage is that water drum has water inside which will further cool down evaporated and condensed staem to a lower temperature so the boiling continues for a longertime.If staem drum were to be used it will dry the water up faster and a thermal explosion could occur due to pressure of steam being more than that of boiling water.
