Environmental scientists study the environment and often various impacts on that environment by outside influences. Environmental scientists are on the 'hot' list these days because of the various roles the perform. For example, you could get a job with a private consulting firm which assess impact of a factory on a given area, or if an area can support homes. Other jobs would include working in a research capacity, as a naturalist, as a teacher, or as a workr for the state/federal government.
