Hi, can someone explain to me where the water molecule comes from after a phosphodiester bond is formed? I see the OH group is lost from the deoxyribose sugar but don't see where the other H is lost?

ribose sugar-OH + ATP-OOH = H2O + PO4=Sugar ribose

From the above equation the H is lost from the phophate group HPO4 wich is the free acid radical in the Atp molecule.
