If we removed some nitrogen gas from the original equilibrium system of hydrogen and nitrogen to = ammonia by allowing a secondary reaction to occur, what would happen to the rates of the reaction?

This would result in a decrease in the rate of the forward reaction. As ammonia continued to decompose to produce nitrogen and hydrogen gas at its original rate, the rate of the forward reaction would eventually start increasing as the rate of the reverse reaction started to decrease. Eventually, a new equilibrium position would be reached, farther to the left than the original position.
