Assimilation as it pertains to biology is the combination of two processes to supply animal cells with the nutrients that they need to continue and sustain their functionality. Assimilation can run the gambit from vitamin, mineral, and other elements from food within the stomach and intestinal tract. The other way bioassimilation takes place is by teh chemical breakdown of substances in the bloodstream by the liver or enzymes.
