How do you get a poinsettia to change colors?

I bought 2 poinsettias last Christmas, and I've been able to keep them alive & healthy throughout the year. Now that it's November, what do I have to do to get them to start changing back to red & pink in time for this Christmas?

Keep the poinsettia in total darkness for at least 14 hours per day, and keep the soil moist. These actions will restore the color.
