In what ways had Ayatollah Khomeini "turned himself into a myth" for the people of Iran?

Khomeini created himself as a myth because everything he was built up on was lies. He did not exist in the moon and he did not bring about a good revolution to the people of Islam. When he died so did his dreams and the dreams of others that one day they would reach freedom. The fiction of Khomeini's promises became more apparent when he died and the people's dreams went with him.
