2y + x = 35

2y -2y+ x = 35-2y

x = 35-2y

-y+4x=-4

-y+4(35-2y)=-4

-y+4(35) (4)(-2y)=-4

-y+140-8y=-4

140-9y=-4

140-9y+140=-4+140

-9y=136

-9y/-9=136/-9

y=-15.11

x = 35-2y

x = 35-2(-15.11)

x = 35--30.2= 35+30.2=65.2
