- 2x + y = - 3

- 2x+2x + y = - 3 +2x

y = - 3 +2x

- x - y = - 12

- x - ( - 3 +2x) = - 12

- x +3 -2x = - 12

+3 -3x = - 12

+3-3 -3x = - 12-3

-3x=-15

-3x/-3=-15/-3

x=5

y = - 3 +2x

y = - 3 +2(5)

y = - 3 +10=7
