2x + y = 16
2x + y-2x = 16-2x
y=16-2x
4x - 4y = - 4
4x - 4(16-2x) = - 4
4x - 4(16) (-4)(-2x) = - 4
4x-64+8x=-4
-64+12x=-4
-64+12x+64=-4+64
12x=62
12x/12=60/12
x=5
y=16-2x
y=16-2(5)
y=16-10
y=6
