2x + 2y = 2
2x + 2y-2x = 2-2x
2y=2-2x
2y/2=2/2-2x/2
y=1-x
4x + 2y = - 4
4x + 2(1-x) = - 4
4x + 2(1) (2)(-x) = - 4
2x+2=-4
2x+2-2=-4-2
2x=-6
2x/2=-6/2
x=-3
y=1-(-3)
y=2
