4x - y = 7
4x - y-4x = 7-4x
-y=7-4x
-y/-1=7/-1-4x/-1
y=-7+4x
4x + 3y = 11
4x + 3(-7+4x) = 11
4x + 3(-7) (3)(+4x) = 11
4x-21+12x=11
-21+16x=11
-21+16x+21=11+21
16x=32
16x/16=32/16
x=2
