- x - 5y = 8
- x - 5y+5y = 8+5y
-x= 8+5y
-x/-1= 8/-1+5y/-1
x=-8-5y
3x + 5y = - 4
3(-8-5y) + 5y = - 4
3(-8) (3)(-5y) + 5y = - 4
-24-15y+5y=-4
-24-10y=-4
-24-10y+24=-4+24
-10y=20
-10y/-10=20/-10
y=-2
x=-8-5y
x=-8-5(-2)
x=-8+10
x=2
