2x + y = 19
2x + y -2x= 19-2x
y=19-2x
2x - y = 13
2x - (19-2x) = 13
2x - 19+2x = 13
4x-19=13
4x-19+19=13+19
4x=22
4x/4=22/4
x=5.5
y=19-2x
y=19-2(5.5)
y=19-11
y=8
