How do I solve this example of my equation? 4 [ 5 (12+4) -2] -7=

Go for the innermost brackets first: (12+4)=16. So the next level of brackets has: [5*16-2]. Multiplication must be done first: 5*16=80, then subtract 2: 80-2=78. This is the result of the square brackets, so now we have 4*78-7=312-7=305, the answer.
