(6)(x) (6)(+8)=5x+4

6x+48=5x+4

6x+48-4=5x+4-4

6x+44=5x

6x-6x+44=5x-6x

44=-1x

44/-1=-1x/-1

-44=x

Check:

6(x + 8) = 5x + 4

6(-44+8)=5(-44)+4

6(-36)=--220+4

-216=-216
