Macrina the Younger was a nun. She was a well educated, young woman, who decided to join convent after the death of her intended husband. Macrina was also the sister of St. Basil, St. Gregory of Nyssa, and St. Peter of Sebastea. Saint Macrina's feast day is celebrated on July 19th.
