Was what was formerly British Guiana, ever under Dutch control?

British Guiana has had a turbulent past and found themselves under the control of various European countries over the years. Prior to coming under British control, the area was controlled by the Dutch. In 1782, the French claimed the area, and turned it back over to the Dutch. The Brotish once again took control in 1796, ceding the area back to Holland in 1802, as a part of a peace treaty.
