The answer to this question would depend upon the text you're using in your classroom. Different texts or theorists would answer this question in different ways, using different examples.
Without a text, I can say that isolation and lack of social participation interferes with and causes a lack of ability to socialize. Socialization skills are dependent upon experience and observation.
