Describe three ill-effects of the dual system of administration in India?

1) Indian Merchants were reduced to beggars as a result of revenue payments. The British enjoyed duty free trade, whereas, the merchants were forced to pay around 40% of the revenue.

2) Indian peasants were also placed under the British revenue collection. As a result, the poverty stricken peasant were forced to beg.... the people who thought things couldn't get any worse found out that they could.
