• The bill is assigned to a committee for study.
• If the bill is released by the committee, it is put on a calendar to be voted on, debated or amended.
• If a simple majority passes the bill (218 of 435), it moves to the Senate.
• The Senate assigns another committee
• Release, debate, vote/ Simple majority (51 of 100) passes the bill
•Conference committee assigned of House and Senate members to work out differences.
• Bill is returned to the House and Senate for final approval.
• The President has 10 days to sign or veto the enrolled bill.
