Who is The King from Spinners and what is their importance?

The king is a young, spoiled, and attracted to the unusual. When he hears about Saskia's spinning skills, he asks to meet her. Initially, he isn't impressed...... at least until her father tells him that she can spin straw into gold. Hearing this, the king forces Saskia to spend three nights spinning. When the three nights are over, he convinces Saskia to marry him.
