Who is The Drunks in the Truck on the Mountain Road from Up at the Villa and what is their importance?

Though unnamed, these men play an important role in the story because they interrupt the efforts by Mary and Rowley to dispose of Karl's body. The appearance of the drunks prompts a kiss between Mary and Rowley that Rowley later uses as an excuse for Mary to marry him.
