Sophie is Penelope's mother. After Sophie lost her family in the war, she went to find Lawrence, and old family friend, based upon his promise that he would always protect her. The couple falls in love with him and has one daughter, Penelope. Sophie rarely leaves Lawrence, but when she visits London, she is killed during the Blitz.
