Who is Sir John Falstaff from Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human and what is their importance?

Sir John Falstaff was one of Prince Hal's dearest friends. He lends a sense of humor to the play, Henry IV. Falstaff's comedic qualities, in addition to his inner personality and character, inspired the author to claim Shakespeare was the inventor of the modern human personality.
