Sinclair is the features editor at the newspaper where Tom Krome works. Sinclair is an edgy young man who is constantly in fear of being humiliated by Tom Krome. When Krome quits his job, Sinclair refuses to accept his resignation and makes up a story about what happened between the two of them. Sinclair's boss sends him to Grange to find Tom. While he is there, Sinclair has a psychological breakdown while visiting a shrine made up of a weeping Madonna and tiny painted turtles.
