Nurse Monika is one of the nurses at the villa. She is in love with Mobius and wishes to run away with him. In Act II, we learn that Mobius wants to remain in the madhouse, so he murders Monika with a curtain cord. He has no desire to be a part of her plan to run away and start a new life.
