Who is Laton from The Neutronium Alchemist Consolidation and what is their importance?

A mass murderer and corrupter of Edenist ideas, Laton's family is killed and possessed in the initial outbreak of the energy virus on Lalonde. Laton's possessor takes him to the bitek habitat Pernik, but is forced out by Laton, who then sacrifices himself to scuttle the habitat and free the Edenist captain Syrinx.
