Jamie Dexter is a 12-year-old daughter of an Army Colonel. She will turn 13 in December. She is living on post at Ft. Hood in Texas with her parents. Jamie has an older brother and she is constantly trying to impress her father because she feels their relationship would be different if she had been born a boy.
Jamie plays a lot of games and sports that boys play. When she and her brother were younger, they always played a game of war with two of the neighbor boys that lived near them at the time. Jamie is always tossing the football around or playing a game with her father and brother. Jamie is a little sad because her two best friends recently moved away with their families.
