Who is Hollywood from Absolutely Maybe and what is their importance?

Hollywood is a skinny, pimply kid that works with Maybe in the high school library during first period. He always has a movie camera in his hands and he is always filming because he wants to film movies for a living. Hollywood comes from a huge family that lives in a trailer park. He lands a scholarship to attend film school in Los Angeles at the Unsiversity of Southern Califronia (USC).

Whenever Ted and Maybe want to go somewhere, they always hitch a ride with Hollywood in his his big green car that they call the Green Hornet. Since Hollywood is driving the Green Hornet out to college, Maybe and Ted decide to hitch a ride with him when they ruin off to find Maybe's biological father.

Hollywood has a crush on Maybe, but Maybe only thinks of him as a friend. As Hollywood gets used to the California lifestyle, he modifies his looks to be a bit more refined. He even starts dating Maybe's friend and boss, Jess. Ultimately, Hollywood enters and wins a documentary film contest when he enters a film he makes about Maybe.
