A resident of Santa Mira, Fletcher Kale is arrested for the murder of his wife and son after his wife refuses to give him any more money for his investments. Fletcher shows no remorse for his actions, believing that he is simply doing what needs to be done in order to achieve his goals. Kale feels he is entitled to succeed, and that others have intentionally held him back. Kale feels this way about Bryce Hammond as well, as the sheriff had seemed to be an unworthy adversary but had outwitted Kale in the end.
