Eddie is another of the main characters of this novel. He has just recently joined Roland in his quest for the Dark Tower. Eddie has come from New York City and part of him still wants to return to his hometown. He is the husband of Susannah, who is also from New York. In order to help Roland with his quest, Eddie must overcome his fear of his older brother Henry. Henry continually made fun of Eddie and Eddie's love of carving. For this reason Eddie feels self-conscious about carving or allowing other people to see him carving. In order to help Jake join Roland and his group, Eddie must carve a key that will allow him to unlock a door and let Jake into their world.
