Captain Sally Britton is an experienced oil tanker captain. However, one of Britton's ships grounded itself when her chief mate did not follow her instructions. Britton was intoxicated at the time and this led to a stint in rehab, ending in her inability to find another job. At the same time, Britton has been fighting for custody of her young daughter. When Glinn comes to Britton and offers her the helm of the Rolvaag, Britton jumps at the chance to clear her name. Britton is a strong, confident captain who gets the Rolvaag to Isla Desolacion without a problem. However, when the ship is under attack by a rogue Chilean destroyer, Glinn takes control. Britton finds herself trusting Glinn, placing her life and all of those aboard ship in his hands. However, this proves to be a mistake when Glinn cannot bring himself to jettison the meteorite at a critical moment.
