Abe Glitsky is a cop with the SFPD. Glitsky is part-black and part-Jewish. This heritage causes Glitsky a great deal of confusion throughout his life as he tries to avoid racism and understand his own identity. Deep down, Glitsky is a good man who is frustrated by the bureaucracy of the police department. This frustration leads Glitsky to apply to the Los Angeles police department in the hopes of finding a job that is less difficult to do. However, Glitsky eventually comes to the conclusion that San Francisco is his home and he does not belong anywhere else.
