What is the conflict and the solution in the book "The perfect storm"?

The conflict in A Perfect Storm is classic man vs nature. The men aboard the ship have to battle not one, but three, different storms. There is no clear cut solution, the only thing the men can do is ride out the storm as best they can, using the years of experience to stay alive.
