Freytag's triangle (pyramid) is a simple triangle, which is used to represent dramatic structure. In the triangle, Freytag highlights the seven parts he considered necessary to storytelling:
• exposition
• inciting incident
• rising action
• climax
• falling action
• resolution
• denouement
