In the poem Teenagers by Pat Mora, Who is the speaker of this poem (the person telling the poem)? Hint: are they an adult? A child? A parent?

Poem:

"One day they disappearinto their rooms.Doors and lips shut, and we become strangersin our own home.I pace the hall, hear whispers,a code I knew but can’t remember, mouthed by mouths I taught to speak.Years later the door opens.I see faces I once held, open as sunflowers in my hands. I seefamiliar skin now stretched on long bodiesthat move past meglowingalmost like pearls."

The speaker is an adult... a parent.
