In Chris Cleave's novel, Little Bee, how is Andrew morally flawed?

other than he does not cut off his finger to save Little Bee and her sister and that he commits suicide even though he has a son, how is morally flawed?

Andrew largest flaw is his hypocrisy. He has no problem detailed his opinions and extensive knowledge in his newspaper articles, but he doesn't follow through in real life. In other words, he doesn't practice what he preaches.
