In "Beowulf the final battle" Beowulf's speech that begins on page 43. How is king Beowulf different from the younger Beowulf who defeated Grendel?

When Beowulf was young he was reckless, he was more of a hot head so to speak. The older Beowulf was more thoughtful and less impulsive.
