Im in an advanced 8th grade L.A and my teacher told me to write an essay on a book i have read. Does anyone know the difrent types of essays i could write? Shes not a very good teacher can anyone help | English & Literature Questions & Answers

What sort of parameters did she give you? If she just told you to write and 'essay' on the book, then perhaps she just wants a book report (short summary in your own words, perhaps comments on the characters and how they change over the course of the book). OR...if she wants a true essay (which is more interesting in my opinion) then you will have many more options as far as what you could write about. For example, you could write about some of the themes that came out of the book, how the book perhaps influenced history or changed the way people in today's world view things, or you could compare and contrast the book you read to a movie based on the book. Sky is really the limit, here.
