In the novels of Toni Morrison, especially the novels, The Bluest Eye, and Beloved, we see that her statement about parents of oppression passing along certain inclinations on to their children to be true....at least in fiction. Fiction and reality have a way of being fair playmates at times, but in the end, it is the determination of the individual to identify and overcome any type of perspective that has been offered to them as children that no longer serves them as adults.
