Women in Shakespeare didn't always get a fair shake, though, to be honest, he gave them a fairer shake than many did in his day and age. For example, he did allow his female characers to have true opinions, to be aggressive, and he showed them to be multi-facted instead of cardboard cutouts of stereotypical damsels. However, that being said, he also showed them to be ruled entirely by emotions, incapable of making a good and sound decision without a man around, and easily manipulated.
