Explain the Socratic (teaching) method in your own words. Should public school teachers use the Socratic (teaching) method more?

The Socratic teaching method focusses on giving students questions, not answers. It is based on inquiring, probing mind by continually probing into the subject with questions. I think this method should be a part of the public school system. How much a part depends on the demographic of the kids in the system.
