How do peoples' words cause them to identify themselves personally with their jobs? Why is this a problem?

People say, "I'm a teacher," or "I'm a lawyer," instead of saying, "I teach," or "I practice law." This makes the negatives of their jobs, including frustration and imperfections, become a part of them.
