Who is the commander of the outpost in Ashuriyah in the novel, Youngblood?

Captain Vrettos is the commander of the outpost in Ashuriyah. He is portrayed as a competent leader who receives little appreciation from higher command, who claim that the violence in Ashuriyah is due to his failings. Captain Vrettos is perpetually sleep deprived and is shown to be somewhat paranoid, sitting in the corners of rooms during meetings and keeping a lock on his door at all times. He is also the only gay character of the novel, a fact that causes Chambers a measure of disgust.
