What is Gabi's role in the novel, You Should See Me in a Crown?

Gabi serves as an example for the importance of forgiveness. Even though Gabi deceived and hurt Liz, Liz decides to be understanding of Gabi’s circumstances and the difficulties she has faced in her life and family. While she initially rejects her offer to rekindle their friendship, she does eventually grow and leave behind her grudge once she sees the progress Gabi has made on her own as well. She trusts that the foundation of their friendship and the desire to live honestly in the future will be enough to steer Gabi.
