The climax occurs when Grace visits Jonathan’s family and realizes that Jonathan lied when he told her what bad people they were. Grace is chilled when she learns that it was not a dog that Jonathan was accused of hurting, but his younger brother. The family believes that Jonathan was responsible for the death of Aaron, his younger brother.
