The Philadelphia Art Museum in Pennsylvania is important for two reasons. First, there is a memory scene of Charlotte with her father before his heart attack. Then, toward the end of the novel, Charlotte goes to the museum searching for something, even though she is not sure what. It is here where she tries to look at the same paintings that her father enjoys and find the same passion in the artwork that he sees. This is the last place she goes before she finally visits her father in the hospital.
