Who is James Alexie as noted in the memoir, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me?

James, is the author's youngest brother and second cousin; there is a 15 year age gap separating the two. James was adopted by Sherman Alexie's parents (Lillian and Sherman Sr.) when he was a toddler. Prior to joining the Alexie family, James was plagued by severe poverty and extremely starved when they took him in. Because of their age differences, James was only five years old when the author left the reservation and they have a distanced relationship as a result. Described as smart, handsome and thin, James is currently married to a white woman and has a master's degree in business.
