Richmond is the town where Marnie and Michael part ways. Marnie drops out of the walk here because Michael has not invited her to finish the hike with him. However, not long after they say goodbye, Marnie wanders around Richmond reflecting on everything that has happened. Realizing she wants something to happen with Michael, she returns to his hotel to confess her feelings. However, Michael is waiting for Natasha to join him. Although he is hopeful about rekindling his relationship with his ex, Richmond marks a turning point in their relationship, too. Seeing Natasha again for dinner makes Michael realize he has to move on.
